Certified to manage and administer high risk IV medications as well as oral medications
used within critical care units. Certified to manage and monitor Continuous Renal
Replacement Therapy, EKGs, Arctic Sun, BEHR Warming devices, Roto-prone bed,
Rapid infusion device and Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), and Impella devices.
Assists in bedside procedures such as central line insertions, intubation, chest tube
insertions, and respective reading of Swans, central venous pressure, arterial pressure,
bladder pressure and, intracranial pressure. Provide nursing care such as Tracheostomy
care, wound management, ostomy care, insertion of Foley catheters, naso- or oral gastric
tubes, and peripheral intravenous catheters.
Serve as a preceptor and mentor to nurses in critical care.
