Fee: 50% of the regular truck, truck-tractor or trailer fee.
Qualifications:
•Used on a highway exclusively to transport the owner’s soil conservation machinery
or equipment used in clearing real property, terracing, or building farm ponds,
levees, or ditches.
Guidelines:
•An owner applying for this type of registration must sign the affidavit on the form.
•Owner may register only one truck, truck-tractor, and one semi-trailer or low-boy
trailer.
•Only one plate issued for display on the front of the vehicle.
Renewals:
•Notice sent 60 days prior to expiration.
•The department will retain a specialty license plate number for 60 days after the
expiration date of the plates if the plates are not renewed on or before their
expiration date.
•All specialty license plate renewals received after the expiration of the 60 days will
be treated as new applications; previous owner must reapply.
•Renew at the tax office only – new plates are issued each year.
•Customer decides not to renew the county will issue a general issue plate at no
charge and collect full registration fees.
Transfers:
•Transferable from person to another qualifying person, but are not transferable from
one vehicle to another.
Replacements:
•Fee: $5.30/$6.30 (large county – 50,000 + vehicle population counties)
•Counties should have plates in stock, if not contact the regional office.
