I am writing this letter to inform you of my decision to refuse to allow my student,

_____________________________ in _______ grade to participate in taking the AzMerit test. This has been a

very difficult decision for me to make. However, as a parent who wants to protect my child, I have come to the

conclusion that I must take a stand against the big money and power grab by the U.S. Department of Education,

non-government agencies, textbook companies, corporations, and testing consortia who want to collect

personally identifiable data on my child for the use of profiteering and control. I reserve this moral right under

Arizona State Statue 15-102 and the 4

Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Please respectfully honor my rights and moral obligation as a parent and let my child read silently or

review and study past lessons that were taught in the classroom in lieu of taking the AzMerit tests.

I appreciate your time and concern in this matter.
