JEROME COUNTY 4-H & FFA MARKET ANIMAL SALE CONSIGNMENT FORM
ANIMAL CONSIGNMENT FORM:
I wish to consign my __________________(beef, lamb, goat, dairy heifer, or swine) to the Jerome County 4-H & FFA
Market Animal Sale and authorize the Jerome County 4-H & FFA Market Animal Sale, Inc. to act as the agent for
selling my animal.
SALE AGREEMENT:
I understand that when my animal is sold that there will be various charges (i.e.: advertising, postage, pork
assessments, beef/dairy brand inspection, a 1% sale committee fee, thank you late fee etc.) deducted from
my check. I also am aware that when the animals are sold, the checks will be issued for my animal when 3/4
the sale proceeds are collected. I will cash my check within 60 days.
I understand that all beef, sheep, goat, and swine consigned to the sale will be slaughtered, whether it is a
custom kill or a resale animal. Dairy heifers will be taken home by the buyer.
I understand that the Floor Price used in the Sale Bill is an arbitrary price that is used to establish market
value of the animals so that the buyers can calculate the amount of blue sky money they will pay above the
true value of the animal. This is shown on the Sale Bill, however, the blue sky money paid by the buyer will
not change.
In order to sell an animal in the Jerome County 4-H & FFA Market Animal Sale, it is mandatory that the
member consigning the animal and their parents read and sign this form and return it the day of weigh-in or
to the 4-H office within two business days of weigh in with proof of purchase for your animal(s). We are
signing this form at the beginning weigh-in, as a convenience for myself and the sale committee so that it is
ready at the time of the sale. The signing of this form does not mean that I must sell my animal.
As a consignor of an animal to the fair I am guaranteeing that my animal has not or will not receive any
medication which is not labeled for my animal. I am also guaranteeing that medicines administered have
been given in accordance with the labels on the product. This will include mode of administration,
withdrawal time and proper dosage. If my animal is found with antibiotic residues resulting in the
condemnation of the carcass, see Market Animal Sale Rule # 18 for penalty.
I understand that the sale of my market animal project is at the discretion of the Sale Committee. Animals
deemed not fit by the Sale Committee will not be sold. I will be asked to attend a meeting with the
committee if my animal is in question.
I understand that I must follow all 4-H & FFA rules to sell my animal. I understand that I will not be able to
sell my animal if:
I do not complete the 4-H or FFA project, including a completed record book with red ribbon or above, and
attend the majority of the meetings held,
o I do not turn the record book in on time,
o I do not show at the Jerome County fair.
o I understand that I have ONE hour after the quality classes of my specie is finished to distinguish in
writting which animal I want to sell, if I have shown more than one animal. If I do not notify the
superintendent the highest placing animal will be sold.
I understand that I am responsible for the care and health of my animal after the sale until it has been
removed from the fairgrounds, to the respected buyers.
THE 4-H AND FFA DRESS CODE WILL BE ENFORCED DURING THE SALE. ANYONE WEARING SHORTS OR TANK
TOPS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL.
