OBITUARY GUIDELINE
JONATH AN E. DOE
ELLSWORTH Jonathan E.
Doe, 71, died unexpectedly
March 10, 2010, at an Ellsworth
hospital. He was born January 1,
1939, in Southwest Harbor, the
son of Harry J. and Mary P.
(Smith) Doe.
Jonathan graduated from
MDI High School, class of 1957.
Following graduation, he served
in the U.S. Army in Korea during
the Korean Conflict. Jonathan
returned home to marry his high
school sweetheart, Jane Smith,
and they settled in Ellsworth.
They celebrated 50 years of
marriage in February. Jonathan
was a loyal member of VFW
Post 109 of Ellsworth, the
American Legion and was a
member of the First Baptist
Church of Lamoine.
Jonathan is survived by his
beloved wife, Jane (Smith) Doe;
his so n, Jonatha n Doe, Jr . and his
wife, Susan of Lamoine;
daughters, Sarah Thompson and
her husband, James of Medway,
Kathy Sorek of Surry; two
grandchildren, Jason and Marilyn
Thompson of Medway; one
brother, Charles Doe and his wife
Dorothy of Southwest Harbor;
and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance
will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
April 2, 2010, at Jordan-Fernald,
113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
Interment will be at Woodbine
Cemetery, Ellsworth. Gifts in
Jonathan’s memory to the
Ellsworth High School
Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1,
Ellsworth, Maine 04605.
