A release of mortgage, mechanics’ lien or judgment lien must be witnessed and acknowledged in
the same manner as a conveyance of land (Sections 49-9 and 52-380d of the Connecticut General
Statutes).
Thisformmayalsobeused toreleaseanattachmentorlispendens. A releaseofattachmentor
lis pendens does not require witnesses or acknowledgement.
Areleaseofmortgageormechanics’lienmustbeexecutedbythemortgageeorbythelien
holder. (RefertoSection49-9oftheConnecticutGeneralStatutesandStandardofTitle17.2.)
Areleaseofattachment,judgmentlienorlispendensmaybesignedbytheplaintifforhis
attorney.(RefertoSections52-322and52-380doftheConnecticutGeneralStatutesand
