G.S. 20-87.8 - Driveaway Companies. – Any person engaged i n the business of driving ne w motor vehicles from the pl ace of
manufacture to the place of sale in this State for compensation shall pay a fee of one-half of the amount that would otherwise be
payable under this section for each set of plates.

explanation. If name is to be corrected, a new certification of financial res ponsibility (Form F R-2) must be furnished.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: No drive-away plates shall be issued unless there is in effect, for the benefit of the drive-away
company, insurance which would cover any new vehicle being driven by such compan y.
