A new year a fresh start. As we are all set to embrace the New Year I convey my

heartfelt warm wishes to all students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders of NIT

Silchar and their families. New Year is the best time to celebrate what we have

accomplished and determine what direction we want to head. I wish each one of you

get bestowed with intellect, love and peace to excel in your fields.

The year 2014 has been a year of achievements for the Institute. Several awards and

recognitions have been bagged by the Institute. The Institute has been able to leave its

mark in the national platform which was applauded by the Hon’ble President of India

too. I take this opportunity to congratulate each one of you for bringing laurels to the

Institute and hope this continues in the years to come.

I urge you all to embrace the New Year with a determination to work together and

converge all our expertise for the betterment of the Institute and society at large.

Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience

can instill in us.
