Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and was able to relax

and spend some quality time with your families.

As you know school safety is at the forefront of my thoughts, as I’m sure you have

been thinking a lot about this topic over the last month. Our entire district and

school staff makes your child’s safety a top priority, and we will continue to work

diligently to maintain a safe school environment.

You may have noticed that we are “tightening up” a few things at Meadow Point. We

are not changing many things, but rather enforcing more rules and practices that are

in place. We are an elementary school that has the main purpose of serving young

children. The staff at Meadow Point tries our best to be open and inviting as

possible while also maintaining a level of security that keeps our students safe and

secure. We all want to ensure a safe learning environment for your children. Please

be advised of the following:

1. All exterior doors are locked at all times. Please ring the bell to the main

office or the Before and After program to gain access to the building.

2. Please do not attempt to enter the building through or prop open any of the

outside doors.

3. Visitors will now need photo identification in order to enter our building and

to check in or sign out students during the school day.

4. In order to sign a student out of school, you must be listed on the student’s

preapproved contact list.

Securing safety for all students sometimes necessitates making a decision that

causes an inconvenience for some families but we appreciate your understanding,

support and patience as we try to maintain an environment that is safe and

supportive.
