FormI-515A, “Noticeto Student or ExchangeVisitor,”Noncompliance

Recipients of the“IntenttoTerminate”notices willhave14days, as of thedatethe notice is sent, to

respondto the FormI-515A. Failuretocomply withinthe 14-daygrace periodwillresult intermination

of therecipient’s Student andExchange Visitor InformationSystem (SEVIS) record,whichwillflagthe

nonimmigrant asapossiblevisa violator inofficialgovernment systems.

Nonimmigrant students,exchange visitorsanddependents wholose their valid nonimmigrant status as a

result of their SEVISrecordbeingterminated for failureto comply withthe requirements of aFormI-

515A must filefor reinstatement and relevant fees willapply.

F-1and M-1 students andtheir dependents must file for reinstatement with U.S. Citizenship and

ImmigrationServices,whileJ-1 exchange visitors and their depends must filewiththeU.S.Department

of State. Nonimmigrants that do not comply withthe Form I-515A anddo not filefor reinstatement must
