3INTRODUCTION PARAGRAPH. This paragraph must include the

TITLE of the book (UNDERLINED), and the author of the book.

EXAMPLES of how to begin this paragraph could be: I have been reading

__________ by _______. OR, This week I read the book _______ by ________,

OR, The book I am responding to is _________ by ________.

In the SECOND PARAGRAPH you will respond to the topic the

teacher has given you. You must GIVE DETAILS! (3-5 sentences!!!) For

example, if your topic is to explain how your character responds to a

situation in the story you could begin your paragraph with When explain

the situation happened to name of character, I was describe your feeling –

shock, surprise, excitement…..) because ….. OR, It was your

reaction/feeling to me when describe situation happened to the name of

main character. It was fun, exciting, describe your reaction because …….

The THIRD PARAGRAPH should connect the book to something

either about you (text to self), another book (text to text), or to what is

happening in the world today (text to world). This character is like ______

in the book ______ because ……. OR, This character reminds me of me

because ………, OR This character’s situation in the story reminds me of a

similar situation in my own life. It happened when……, OR, This character

reminds me of somebody I know because ……This should be 2-4

sentences.

The FINAL paragraph should be a quick concluding sentence.

Examples are, I am really enjoying this book. OR I am confused by what I

read this week. OR I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
