The information below is to be used as a guideline to determine eligibility to receive IFSAC accreditation in the following areas. If you have quest ions, please refer
to the appropriate chapter of the commission’s Standard Manual for Fire Protection Personnel
on the agency’s website at www.tcfp.texas.gov for further
clarification.
Qualification Guidelines for IFSAC Seals:
Individuals qualifying for IFSAC seals via a passed exam, the individual MUST apply for the seal within 2 years of pass the exam.
Medical courses documented must meet NFPA 1001 medi cal requ i remen ts that include the following four subjects: Infection Control; CPR;
Bleeding Control and Shock Management
Prerequisite seals must be held before an advanced seal can be issued. Prerequisite and advanced seals can be applied for at the same time on the same
application (as long as all qualifications for both are met at that time)

Awareness
Pass Hazmat Awareness exam or Awareness section of a combination exam within 2 years.

Operations
Hold an IFSAC seal for Hazmat Awareness and pass Hazmat Operations exam or Operations section of a combination
exam within 2 years.
