Instructions

Submit the completed application, payment in the form of a personal check, money order or cashier's check, and a copy of the current

General Distinguishing Number certificate to your local County Tax Assessor-Collector's office. Do not mail cash. The personalized

plate fee is $85 per year.

NOTE: If you place your order by mail, please contact your County Tax Assessor-Collector's office in two weeks to verify your plate is

ready for issuance.

Specialty personalized plate fees will not be refunded once application is submitted. Contact your County Tax Assessor-C ollector if

you have questions.

•Pleasebesureyoulikeallofyourpersonalizedplateselectionsasrefundswillnotbeissued.

•Show selections exactly as you wish them to appear on your license plate. You may list more than one option in the event the

personalization you have chosen is alreadyissued.

•A selectionthathasalreadybeenissued,isdeemedoffensive,orconflictswiththeregularlicenseplatenumberingsystemcannot

beapproved.

•Intheblocksbelow,describeeachofyourselectedpersonalizedletters,numbers,and/orsymbols.Theavailablesymbolsinclude:

a period, a dash, a blank space, a Texas silhouette (use an asterisk (*)), a heart (use an “at” mark (@)) and a star (use an

ampersand(&)).

•Passengercarandtruckplates are limitedtosix (6) lettersandnumbers(youmayselectupto 8 characterstotal,including

punctuat ion, sp eci al char acter s andspaces).

•Motorcycleandmopedplates are limitedtofour (4) lettersandnumbers(youmayselectupto 6 characterstotal,including

punctuat ion, sp eci al char acter s andspaces).

•You are not required to use all the spacesprovided.

•The International SymbolofAccesscountsastwocharacters.Ifyouare disabledandapplyingforpersonalizedlicenseplates,

the plate may consist of only six characters (or four, if for a moped). Use a percent sign (%) to indicate the International Symbol of

Access.

Please be sureyou like all of your personalized plate selections as refunds will not be issued.
